9-IP Address

IP address divided into 5 classes :


1-Class A   Ranges from   (0-127)
2-Class B  Ranges from   (128-191)
3-Class C  Ranges from   (192-223)
4-Class D   Ranges from  (224-239)
5-Class E   Ranges from   (240-255)



1-Class A   Ranges from   (0-127).

This IP series is basically user for LAN and WAN as well for purpose of communication between
the networking devices . 


2-Class B  Ranges from   (128-191)

This IP series is also basically user for LAN and WAN as well for purpose of communication between the networking devices .

3-Class C  Ranges from   (192-223)

This IP series is also  basically user for LAN and WAN as well for purpose of communication between the networking devices .


4-Class D   Ranges from  (224-239)

This Address is used for to communicate with multiple device at at time within a group In multi casting data is not destined for a particular host, that is why there is no need to extract host address from the IP address, and Class D does not have any sub net mask


5-Class E   Ranges from   (240-255)

This Address is used by IANA for experiment purpose. This IP Class is reserved for experimental purposes only for R&D or Study. IP addresses in this class ranges from 240.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.254. Like Class D, this class too is not equipped with any subnet mask.
